Sega Amusements raises the bar at IAAPA 2013

SEGA’s booth at the recently held IAAPA show was “the place” to be for the latest and greatest in coin-op. The company showcased an amazing 29 titles, (7 of which were brand new for IAAPA) covering 11 distinct categories displayed in 45 different cabinets. In addition to outstanding games, the company showcased licensed and proprietary merchandise and personal electronics from their Prize Division and introduced their new Turn Key Division offering a total solution for the development of entertainment centers.

Sega extended the excitement beyond the convention center by placing the very first Transformers-Human Alliance 55” Theater at Dave and Busters on International Drive. They chose this location because it’s known as a world-class entertainment center and a must-see destination by attendees to IAAPA. For maximum impact, Sega installed a giant Transformer’s promotional element covering the entire Dave and Busters stairway at the atrium entrance.

“At this year’s show, the goal was to showcase our ability to deliver a complete entertainment center solution encompassing outstanding product, over-the-top promotions, top-of-the-line merchandise and turn-key services to take your dream from vision to reality,” said COO and President Paul Williams. “The presentation of our stand which included a 17-foot tall Optimus Prime statue on one side and a full-sized façade of a house including a front lawn straight from the world of Plants vs. Zombies on the other delivered on this goal. The additional promotion at Dave and Busters for Transformers lived up to attendee’s high expectations of the movie franchise as well as what they expect to see in Orlando - big, bold promotions.”

In addition to Transformers and Plants vs Zombies, Sega revealed 5 other brand new titles including 2 new driving games, Storm Racers and Storm Riders, 2 new prize vending games, Prize Locker and Axe Master, and a new mechanical ticket redemption game, Snakes n Ladders.

“This was the best IAAPA show we’ve had in several years,” continued Williams. “The combination of the right products and services coupled with an engaged and eager group of buyers produced a result that far exceeded our expectations.”
